April 2012

April was an interesting month full of changes. Laura turned ...wait for it......35, and left Shands Rehab Center For Kids and started at Lamp Post Therapy Center!! The remodel of the downstairs was finished, adding an awesome new room and bathroom as well as a new water heater and new heating and cooling system and insulation for the whole house.

Work had just begun. New eindow framed in at the right, getting ready to move the door down to the left a bit

Framed in new furnace room, laundry nook and half bath. Putting in new insulation in the walls

Wall between the old "garage" and our family room getting ready for demolition!
Hot water heater getting ready to be donated and a new tankless unit put in instead.

Drywall almost done, new french doors to open onto the future back patio

Paint, new light fixtures, new door/window

The wall is down, new steps up into the house from the new room

Painting trim and doors

Finished! Carpeted and furniture moved in! (View from kitchen)

Last minute storage cabinet door adjustments before baby shower

Laura hosted a baby shower for her friend Steph and made great use of the new downstairs room.

The Shands girls

We celebrated Laura's birthday with brunch at Mom and Dad's, the Farm to Family Music Festival in High Springs where our friend Andrew's band was playing, a dinner date at Francesca's and then 80s dancing at The Atlantic with friends.

Out on our birthday date night

80s night with DJ Donna at the Atlantic

Patrick surprised Laura with a trip to a little beach bungalow on Manasota Key on the Gulf for her birthday. The grounds of the little bungalow were lush with plants and we walked out of our door and onto the beach. Everett loved digging with her new shovel and bucket and we had a great time exploring the nearby parks and restaurants.

We drove down to see Grandma Janet and Papa Bob our last day.

We enjoyed a trip to Rick Treworgy's Muscle Car City Museum, which had been on Patrick's to do list for a while.

Everett's April included her first Easter egg hunt, mastering stairs in one day, the usual walking around with multiple clothing hangers, playing with helium balloons and playing in her new kiddie pool and Grama and Grampa's

First Easter egg hunt....cheerios and blueberry halves!

Riding her new tractor looking tough

Everett went for her first bike ride in her new bike seat and helmet and loves it! We usually ride through the Town of Tioga neighborhood on the shady bike path and then stop at the new playground.
